Rally/Protest Update- Let's call this one a Stretching Excercise! lol

"I want you teabaggers out there to understand one thing: while you idolize the Founding Fathers and dress up like them, and smell like them, I think it's pretty clear that the Founding Fathers would have hated your guts," - Bill Maher

And they think we gave up!  I DON'T THINK SO!

We would like to update you regarding Monday July 2nd's rallys.......
We have received over 110 email responses from Tucson Tea Party supporters who are interested in demonstrating their displeasure with Obamacare, the Supreme courts validation of this new, massive Federal Government tax, and the two local officials that voted for passage of Obamacare. Because of this strong response from Tucson Tea Party members we will be protesting ths upcoming Monday, simultaneously in two separate locations in Pima County.

Ann Kirkpatrick voted for ObamaCare. She wants another opportunity to wreck havoc on our constitutional rights and is running for a seat in Congress in the new CD1. Her campaign is/or will be operating out of an office located at the intersection of Magee and Oracle Rd (They are keepin it on the downlow/QT right now). Tea Partier’s who want to demonstrate against Obamacare and Anne Kirkpatrick, and demonstrate their patriotism, are encouraged to rally between 4:30 and 6pm at the intersection of Magee and Oracle Rd, at that time. Bring your flags, signs, T-Party shirts, and energy, and we will supply the water.

Raul Grijalva voted for ObamaCare. He wants to be re-elected so that he can continue to wreck havoc on our constitutional rights in CD3. Raul’s congressional office is not located on a major road. For the greatest impact, we will protesting on the corner of Speedway and Park Ave. Park Ave is near the dividing line between the new Congressional districts 2 and 3. We can send a message to constituents of both these districts with a protest “on the border”. Tea Partier’s who want to demonstrate against Obamacare, and Raul Grijalva, and demonstrate their patriotism, are encouraged to rally between 4:30 and 6pm at the intersection of Speedway and Park Ave (there is a parking garage on the corner) at that time. Bring your flags, signs, T-Party shirts, and energy, and we will supply the water.

Let’s show our fellow Tucsonan’s Monday afternoon, as they return to their homes after a hard day’s work to support a growing number of massive federal programs, that there is a reason to hope for a change. We will be at both locations to support you. We will have T-shirts and bumper stickers available for sale.

Look forward to seeing you there. Please share this message with other like minded individuals and urge them to drop by and demonstrate with us.

Note to the individuals who replied to our prior email: Thanks for committing to participate at one of the rallies. We initially replied to over 110 emails and may have inadvertently sent you more than one response. We apologize.

FYI: Members of your Tuson Tea Party were present and spoke at Friday's Rio Nuevo board meeting. The "reconstituted" board is scrambling to do "damage control" and move past their prior long history of fiscal malfeasance. It was obvious to us that this is not a unified board, with some members working at cross purposes to others. It appears that TIF revenue is up, relative to debt service. We see a board that is anxious to start spending again. Your Tucson Tea Party made it clear to the board that we, and others, will be watching their every move and communicating to you, our supporters, their actions. Thank you to Tucson Tea Party members that attended this meeting.

Final note: Trent Humphries, a man we all know and respect, appeared on Arizona Illustrated’s: Political Roundtable at 6:30pm this last Friday 06/29/12 on KUAT.  Given the laid back format of that show, Trent jackhammered Jeff " It's really not a tax" Rodgers. Jim Nitzel had his hands full. Trent dished it out hard. Watch for yourself.

Let's be careful out there. - Sgt. Phil Esterhaus, Hill Street Blues

There's a day of reckoning comin....

There’s a day of reckoning comin………………….

“These Tea Party Republicans have worn out their welcome. But I’m telling you — getting rid of ‘em won’t be easy. They’re not leaving on their own. We’re going to have to boot them out the door like unwanted house guests.” -James Carville

“After a good night sleep, I wake up the next day, and I say, ‘Come on, Tea Party, let’s get it on.’”-Maxine Waters

“…that was the Tea Party moment in the sunshine. Which I believe is gone.” -Jim Kolbe
"..some of the most extreme right-wing elements of the Republican Party"-Jeff Rodgers remarking about the Tea Party.

The dogmas of the quiet past, are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew…and then we shall save our country.” – A. Lincoln

“I have a message from the Tea Party, a message that is loud and clear and does not mince words. We've come to take our government back. –Rand Paul

Make no mistake. There’s a day of reckon comin………………….

Two very current events- Your Tucson Tea Party has been closely watching the actions of the reconstituted “Brother, can ya spare another $ 10 million” Rio Nuevo board.  It appears they have rather quickly filled the two open board seats and they have big plans for your money. This new group will be meeting today, Friday June 29th at 400 W. Congress Street Room 222. Their agenda focuses on two items, audits and bonds. They are planning to meet in executive (secret) session for an hour. We expect that a call to audience will occur sometime after 2:30pm tomorrow. They appear to be eager to cook up a way to appropriate more of your borrowed money. We need Tucson Tea Party members to attend this meeting and raise a unified voice to stop the spending! Will you help? If not you, then who?

Additionally, we would like to stage two simultaneous protests against the train wreck they call “ObamaCare”, at two separate locations Monday July 2nd, 4:00pm-5:45pm. 75 people at both locations are needed to make the necessary impact.  They say the Tea Party is dead. What say ye? We need your commitment…….Yes, you……….Please reply to this email if you are able to definitely commit to attend one of these protests on Monday. Bring your flags and signs and Tea Party shirts. Without your involvement we cannot succeed and we will not proceed without your involvment. We are taking your temperature here and hoping that the Tucson Tea Party is fired up and ready to engage.

Lastly, stay tuned early next week, for our big event announcement. We have much work to do!

"Risk IS our business. That's what this starship is all about. That's why we're aboard her." -- Kirk, James T.

Note: Trent Humphries, a man we all know and respect, will be doing battle with Jeff Rodgers this evening on Arizona Illustrated’s:  Political Roundtable at 6:30pm on KUAT. You might want to record, or watch Trent. They usually match him up against two Democrats. He could use your support. Send him a Facebook message if you have some thoughts you would like him to communicate.

Just when you least expected it, and from an unexpected direction! (with a "thank You" to Frank Antenori)

“Speed is the essence of war. Take advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness; travel by unexpected routes and strike him where he has taken no precautions.” Sun Tsu-The Art of War

For ten plus years 1999-2009, fiscally conservative members of our Tucson community, Tea Party members, Republicans, conservative Democrats, and Independents have been watching, aghast at the fiasco of the unfettered borrowing and spending disaster that we simply refer to as…………........................

Controlled for 10 years by the Tucson City Council and its crony appointments to the Rio Nuevo “spend it till it’s gone” Board.

$260,000,000 of you, your children’s, and your grandchildren’s, tax dollars. Most of it, borrowed money. To be paid back with interest.  Let’s spell that a different way. TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY MILLION DOLLARS or MORE THAN A QUARTER OF A BILLION DOLLARS

What did we get for it? Very little.

The State of Arizona interceded in 2009, to stop the wanton abuse of taxpayer dollars, and removed control of the Rio Nuevo tax district from the City of Tucson. They all but stopped the wasteful spending, with a much anticipated accountability report to be released in the next several weeks.

So you took your eyes off of this issue. You thought it was under control. You’re focused on the CD-8 election tomorrow. And lo and behold…………In the space of one week…………..

Powerful Tucson business interests, leveraged State Senate President Steve Pierce, to remove two board members and replace them with two new board members who …….guess what? ……..anxiously want to restart the spending machine

And that’s what they are going to do tomorrow at 3:00pm. While you are voting. Shhh!....just ignore the man behind the curtain. You’re much too busy voting to pay attention to this newly created board agreeing and voting to spend another $10,000,000 of your money on special interest projects for which you have no input.

And what’s even more ironic, is that they do not have the $10,000,000 to spend. It’s not there. It’s phony funding. And when this is exposed, the bills will be forced on the State of Arizona taxpayer.
State Senator Frank Antenori, who will be facing a difficult re-election race in November in a re-aligned legislative district has courageously spotlighted these recent events.  (And yes, he could have turned a blind eye to these recent events at less political risk. But that’s not Frank nature.) Senator Al Melvin has also had his say on this issue, in strong opposition to the actions of Senator  Steve “I live in Prescott, but enjoy messing with Tucson taxpayers”  Pierce.

At the core of our Tucson Tea Party values is the need for less government spending, greater fiscal responsibility, and greater transparency in government.  We oppose the new proposed spending that is likely to occur tomorrow, while you’re busy voting. We are also concerned that a soon to be released accountability report will be delayed or watered down, in an effort to cover up the misdeeds of a powerful and politically connected, few.

We need your help and attention.
Please call or email Governor Jan Brewer  at (520) 628-6580 or 800-253-0883. Or leave a comment at her website, She’s taken a hands off position on this issue and needs to hear from you. She controls two seats on the Rio Nuevo Board.  Let her know that you oppose Steve Pierce’s removal of Rick Grinnell and Jody Bain and expect her to fill her open appointment with a fiscally conservative watchdog.

Can you find time in your schedule to attend the “new” Rio Nuevo District Board  “Special Meeting” tomorrow, June 12, at 3:00 p.m. at 400 W. Congress Street, Room 158?  There is a limited call to audience. We need a group of Tea Party members to attend and raise a unified voice, that more spending is not needed.

And if you have a few extra minutes call Senator Pierce and give him a piece of your mind. (602) 926-5584

They planned this “special meeting” on Election Day, convinced that you would not be paying attention.

Not again! Not now! Not on our watch!
