Aug 21 Recess Rally at Rep. Giffords’ Office Draws Nearly 1000!

The Recess Rally in front of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ office on Aug. 21 was a huge success! At its peak, more than 700 people lined up down the streets with their home-made signs raised. We estimate that 1000 people attended throughout the course of the rally. (For links to pictures and video of the event, check the bottom of this article.)
Tucsonans are making their voices heard that they do not want the government screwing up their health care! Showing up is half the battle, and I believe that your voices are making a difference and changing the debate here in Tucson.
In fact, at the same time as the Recess Rally, Rep. Giffords announced to the media that she will now be hosting three town halls before she goes back to D.C. including one in Tucson! It is impossible to say how scripted and controlled this town hall will be — much like the one she hosted in May — but it is important that we as concerned citizens show up and make our voices heard.
This is finally our chance to speak directly to her if she does not shut us out.

Concerned citizens all over the country have had the opportunity to attend town hall meetings, but that opportunity was not made available to Tucsonans until Rep. Giffords finally felt the pressure to do so. We must take advantage of this chance to let her know what we think of her positions.
The Tucson Tea Party will be hosting its own healthcare townhall on Aug. 28. We will be discussing the bill as well as free market, no-cost solutions that will bring down the price of health insurance for everyone at both the state and national level.
We urge you to attend our Tea Party townhall as well so that you can attend Rep. Giffords’ townhall armed with the knowledge to ask her the tough questions that need to be asked.

Once again, all of this is only possible because YOU have decided to make your voice heard. Rep. Giffords thought that she could coast through the August recess without a challenge — well, she thought wrong!

I heatedly endorse the Town Hall phenomenon as illustrated by the attendants,mostly old,but courageously speaking up.Remember when MaCain suggested to then candidate “BO”that they have 4 Town Hall meeting.And Bo refused.But after the election was in his hands,the meetings were important to him to spread his duplicitous programs.Now his TH meetings are abandoned for other venues to spread his unpopular programs.

Up with taxpayer`s town hall,down with BO`s
Obama’s left-wing policies are like a virus and the Tea Party movement is the nation’s immune response.
We ELECT Representatives to VOTE our views in CONGRESS. We don’t need the DNC or RNC to use OUR money to BUY votes.
Citizens MUST TAKE BACK THEIR COUNTRY.
Hold YOUR OWN Town Hall meetings. Don’t invite the incumbent, but invite their opposition or better yet, hold a citizens PERFORMANCE REVIEW of your elected officials. Don’t stop at Federal Level - include State and Local officials as well.
You get a performance appraisal at work - why not Congress, State and Local officials as well.
It’s time the loudmouth activists are pushed off the stage and let REAL CITIZENS speak for themselves.
Cancel all media subscriptions until 2010 election is over.
That will insure a more fair election. It will help to eliminate those who don’t contribute to growing GDP.
THE 2010 ELECTION HAS BEGUN.
We don’t WANT representatives who don’t represent their constituents.
HOLD YOUR OWN TOWN HALL MEETINGS IN LOCAL SCHOOLS!
INVITE CONSERVATIVES, INDEPENDENTS, PLUMBERS, ANYBODY THAT WANTS TO RUN AGAINT YOUR INCUMBENT.
CARD CHECK at the door to keep out UNION THUGS.
THIS IS A SERIOUS SUGGESTION. THINK ABOUT IT.
We citizens can pick OUR OWN candidates.
We can’t do worse than OBAMA, PELOSI, SCHUMER, DODD, FRANK, REID, HOYER, LEAHEY, ETC.
SCREW THE DNC AND RNC.
SAVE OUR COUNTRY.
Several helpful things to vent your anger (at the right people and place):
1. Cancel all newspapers and turn TV OFF until 2010 election is over (propaganda).
2. Attend TEA PARTIES or organize one in your area.
3. Avoid purchasing non-essentials.
4. Save as much money as possible.
5. Attend local government money and FORCE them to stop accepting matching Federal Funds for projects they can’t afford.
6. Call your Senators and Representatives EVERY time you are mad about something. Tell them we don’t need them if they let OBAMA run the country.
7. Tell all your friends and relatives to do the same.
8. Subscribe to power organizations like NRA, HERITAGE FOUNDATION, and TEA PARTY PATRIOTS.
9. Vote Independent and Republican (where you can stomach the candidate). Vote with a HEAVY BIAS against Democrats and LIBERAL Democrats especially.
10. Contribute MONEY to defeat Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, Dodd, Frank, Waxman and their ilk in 2010 and beyond.
11. Learn about the Climate Change HOAX and GREEN SHOOTS HOAX. Challenge everyone to become informed. Google Milankovitch Cycle.
12. Avoid buying union made products, especially cars.
13. Pressure your state to FIRE employees BEFORE RAISING TAXES.
16. FIGHT EVERY TAX INCREASE, INCLUDING LOCAL “FEES”.
14. TELL CONGRESS TO bring pending bills home and WE will read them.
15. TELL CONGRESS TO BALANCE THE BUDGET BY FEDERAL FURLOUGHS. If it’s good enough for California, it’s good enough for the COUNTRY.
17. TELL CONGRESS to LIVE BY THE LAWS THEY CREATE FOR US!
I AM FOR HEALTH CARE REFORM.
Immediately cancel all PUBLIC OFFICIAL plans, force them into the private sector AND pay for it on their own.
Immediately cancel all UNION plans and FORCE them into the private sector, AND pay for it on their own.
IN 2010 VOTE OUT LIBERAL REGRESSIVES and MARXISTS (who are 90% DEMOCRATS).
The larger group only looked like about 250 people and the smaller about 60.
BM — You can get a lot better of a picture from the Facebook video that’s posted. The pictures show a very small amount of the people. There were people on all four corners spread all down the street.
Next step… start identifying alternative candidates. Tea Parties are great for showing current politicians how we feel.. but what if they continue not to care?
I really liked mad-as-H comments. You are well informed and you’ve given us good ideas of how to react and act as people-concerned-citizens and patriots. I think you should run!
And to BM, you probably weren’t there at the rally to say what you did. Avoid pessimistic opinions, we leave that to Democrats and Liberals!
Tea Partiers, keep up the good job and don’t lose your passion and love for the country and our hard earned welfare, not free welfare.!
